2023 NCU Fantasy Football | Week 11 Picks!

Hey, we've got a new writer! After nine weeks of wonderful writing and analysis, Matt Hurm is stepping back for the remainder of the season. Thanks to Matt for providing content for over two months — we are obviously doing this for fun, and it's awesome that he gave some time each week to help get this article done.

In his stead, we've got Caleb Bartholomew, who graciously agreed to do some writing over the season's final weeks. I've been assured that he will be picking games, and not musing on his favorite brands of apple cider. On to the picks!

Jabad's Sheep @ Garbage

Jabad’s sheep may have the edge here. Depending on the Texan’s defense to excel against the Cardinals is way too much to ask. Garbage should realize that Murray is back and it won’t be an easy matchup like in previous weeks. That may also be a reason to start Murray. But Garbage won’t.

The remaining comparisons are questionable for both teams but if I had to answer any questions I’d rather have the questions answered by veterans like Dak and Sequon. Waddle should be good to go, but in the off chance he doesn’t that could throw a wrench into my projections.

I have Jabad with the upset here winning by a narrow margin, 82-81.   — Caleb Bartholomew

Figment's Fart @ Am I Not Merciful?

Figments Farts are not a figment of our imagination. They stink as much as their name implies. Even if he updates his QB and DST he’s still no match for Lance. He will not be merciful this week. I don’t know that anything the Farts do will do anything to come close to changing how bad they stink. The Glade is under the sink and Merciful will win 80-54.   — Caleb Bartholomew

Hurts Locker @ Trojan Horses

I know that Caleb's 3-7 record has him on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs, but he built a nice roster before the season, and he'll very likely play spoiler in these remaining weeks. But not this week... he's got Troy's Horsies, who blasted Amy's Bears despite having Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce on bye. Terrifying! The forecast? Pain. Troy uses Hurts Locker as a piñata, winning 123 - 90.   — Jamaal Gilbert

Country Bear Jamboroo @ Clear Eyes Full Hearts

After getting walloped by Troy last week, Country Bear Jamboroo gets a nice break versus the very hospitable and kind Clear Eyes Full Hearts. Regardless of whether Drew gets around to filling his roster slots, the outcome is already determined... the bye week is gonna take a nice, wet bite out of his scoring potential. Bears dance through the week with a 79 -74 victory. — Jamaal Gilbert

Laces Out @ We Are Terrible

The self deprecating remarks of We Are Terrible have been greatly exaggerated. But as long as laces are out, this could be a close game. Laces out has had the fewest points scored against this season, and they have rarely capitalized on that. I don’t think this week will be any different. If Tua has a Monster week that may help but it’s doubtful it would be enough. Russell Wilson has been playing on a mission the last couple of weeks and his weekly floor is too high for that to change this week. We Are Terrible wins 85-78.  — Caleb Bartholomew

Madison's Finest @ All Mahomies

This may be the match up of the week with both teams leading their divisions. This could have huge implications for the playoffs. The bots have this matchup even but I have my money if Madison’s Finest.  It really comes down to the QB which I think neither team anticipated these QB’s as their main QB with so much on the line. That being said, Dobbs has a clear edge and I don’t think it’s even close. Dobbs seems to have a higher ceiling for the year. Levis has a better matchup than he has but I don’t think that puts him at Dobb’s level.

The only other position that could make or break the week is which DST gives away the fewest points. The Steelers DST may be okay against the Browns considering Watson being out for the rest of the season however he’s been out more than he’s been in and the Browns have still succeeded. The Browns wouldn’t be a team I’d want my D going against this year, which makes me want to throw up in my mouth a little bit, just to even say. They aren’t much with Watson and Chubbs out but they are too wild for me to bet against them. The Washington DST may have an upside week against the Giants but the game ultimately comes down to whose defense is the least exhausted by all the turnovers. I have Madison's Finest winning 90-75  — Caleb Bartholomew

Joseph Addai @ Fighting Minnow

Hurm has the chance to deliver a knockout blow to Lidds this week, as Ryan's Joseph Addai is sitting at 5-5 with some tough match ups coming down the pike. Honestly, I just don't see a way that Matt botches this thing... he's got better personnel and better match ups. Henry and McCaffrey would have to go nuts to make this thing close; it's possible that KJ Osborn/Jameson Williams put up under 10 points again. Yuck. Mighty Minnow keep on rolling with a 101 - 82 triumph.  — Jamaal Gilbert

The Algorithm @ Serenity Now!

Paul seems to be doing a great job managing Mac Jones' bye week, so I think I can speak for the league in saying we're proud of him. Jokes aside, this is a huge game for both The Algorithm and Serenity Now!. Both teams have .500 records, but with the way Paul sold off players, I don't know that he'll make any deadline deals ahead of Thanksgiving. Chris, however, has a bunch of assets and a roster that could use a boost. A win this week — which is exactly what I project — might give him the confidence to push some chips in for a playoff run. It all adds up to a 89 - 81 Algorithm win on the strength of Trevor Lawrence and Gibbs ripping it up.   — Jamaal Gilbert
